नई दिल्ली:- डाक विभाग अब अपने प्रमुख रियल एस्टेट संपत्तियों का व्यावसायिक उपयोग करने पर विचार कर रहा है। संचार मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने बताया कि यह कदम डाक नेटवर्क के पुनर्गठन और 1.6 लाख पोस्ट ऑफिसों को लाभकारी केंद्र में बदलने की योजना का हिस्सा है।
मंत्री ने कहा, “चाहे वह टेलीकॉम हो या डाक विभाग, हमें अपनी परिसंपत्तियों का अधिकतम उपयोग करना होगा। यदि आपके पास बड़ी ज़मीन है तो वहां पोस्ट ऑफिस बनाकर ऊपर का हिस्सा किराए पर देकर व्यावसायिक लाभ कमाया जा सकता है।”
उन्होंने बताया कि विभाग यह पता लगा रहा है कि कितनी संपत्तियाँ हैं, उनके टाइटल पेपर्स, म्यूटेशन डिटेल्स और प्रमुख संभावित स्थान कहाँ हैं, ताकि आगे चलकर उन्हें डेवलपर को सौंपा जा सके।
- सिंधिया ने कहा कि छह वर्टिकल्स तैयार किए गए हैं और नई राजस्व धाराओं की पहचान की जा रही है, जिससे हर डाकघर को एक लाभ केंद्र में बदला जा सके। देशभर में डाक विभाग की कई प्रमुख संपत्तियाँ बिना उपयोग के पड़ी हैं, जिनका अब सही उपयोग किया जाएगा।
यह कदम डाक विभाग के पुनर्जीवन और आर्थिक आत्मनिर्भरता की दिशा में एक बड़ा प्रयास माना जा रहा है।
Postal Dept May Commercially Exploit Real Estate: Scindia
New Delhi:- The Department of Posts is considering developing some of its prime real estate for commercial purposes as part of a plan to revamp and reposition the entire postal network. This includes transforming the 1.6 lakh post offices into profit centers, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia told TOI’s Sidhartha.
“Whether it’s telecom or the Department of Posts, we must sweat our assets. If you have a large piece of land, you can have the post office on the ground floor and lease out the rest of the building for commercial use,” said the minister.
Scindia explained that the department is currently assessing how many properties it owns, checking title documents, mutation records, and identifying key potential sites before moving forward with developers.
He added that several government agencies, including the postal department, are sitting on valuable real estate across the country. Six verticals have been created, and new revenue streams are being explored to turn each post office into a revenue-generating profit centre.
The move is part of a broader initiative to modernize and financially strengthen India Post by utilizing its vast real estate assets effectively .
